MetLife has released a new study regarding employee benefit trends in the workplace, including attitudes toward long-term care insurance.

The study stated that a triple threat to the Gen X‚ers and Baby Boomers‚ financial security is becoming apparent: planning for retirement, saving for a child‚s education and caring for an elderly parent. With this in the scope of employer‚s concerns, many are now offering long term care insurance as an employee benefit. 37% of employers now offer or are planning to offer long term care insurance. 73% are concerned about providing for their own or a spouse's long-term care insurance needs. 24% believe they have coverage. This statistic is much higher than the industry statistic which emphasizes the great need for consumer education. For the complete study, click HERE. (PDF file)
