1 Million U.S. Children Are CaregiversIf you ever needed proof that long-term care insurance is not just an "old-age" product, the headline of the USAToday LIFE section on September 14, 2005 should do it for you: 1 Million U.S. Children Are Caregivers The number is actually 1.3 million of children ages 8-18 have been thrust into caregiving roles way too early and 58% of these child caregivers help with at least one activity of daily living such as bathing, dressing, transferring, eating, using the bathroom and yes, changing adult diapers.
